Attention, attention creative women out there! In cooperation with Club Skirts - The Dinah (the biggest lesbian event on Planet Earth) we’re launching a web series contest!

I wonder when I saw the last time a lesbian/bi series on television directed towards a lesbian/bi audience…You know, a series that is still on air, in which the characters stayed alive until the next week or were at least not drug addicted, cheating assholes :)

God bless the internet, huh?! If we don’t get on TV what we want to see, we just do it on our own in the web. Get ready young filmmakers, we want to give a showcase to the greatest web series since …well, this contest! :)

We can’t give you money, but will use our platform to make your creative work accessible for a large international audience. In addition we can offer an awesome prize and support you with promoting your series on lesbian/bi websites in different countries.  But first of all…

There must be rules:

1.    The contest-contributors have to be at least 18 and so does everyone in front of the camera.

2.    The episodes have to be viewable for persons under the age of 18. (No explicit sexual scenes, no rough language.)

3.    No use of unlicensed music or video.

4.    You must submit at least 2 episodes and a written, brief preview for the development/purpose of the storyline or theme.

5.    The series doesn’t have to be in English language but at least have English subtitles.

6.    You have to be able to contribute a series that at least consists of 8 episodes in the end.

7.    The episodes can be between 3 and 12 minutes long, should be consistent in length and  have a golden thread in topic, but doesn’t necessarily have to be scripted (e.g. reality series).

8.    The series should feature at least one lesbian/bi main character or have a lesbian/bi theme.

9.    Content that has been published before can still be submitted.

10.  Non-European contributors are welcome, but have to make sure that the content isn’t created towards a non-European audience. (e.g. A take on the American media, or education systems in Asia aren’t eligible.)

11.  You have to sign a non-exclusive license that eurOut.com and partner-sites are allowed to air your series.

How to submit:

Upload at least two episodes to Veoh.com, Dailymotion.com or Megaupload.com and send the links and a written preview to specialprojects 'at' eurout.org before the 20th of February. The subject line should be “eurOut.com Web Series Contest”. Please include your contact information into the mail.

The winner will be announced on March 1st!

 Prizes:

1.    Two all access passes for the lesbian event of the year, Club Skirts Dinah Shore weekend, 1st - 5th April 2009, in Palm Springs - CALIFORNIA. (The tickets don’t include the costs for flights and hotel reservations, but give you the opportunity to access all areas of the event and maybe get in contact with women from international media, who bustle around in crowds there. You never know what can happen at Club Skirts Dinah Shore!)

2.     A call with Sandra Showtime about the future promotion of your web series at partner websites of eurOut from different countries. She will also tell you how awesome you are :)
