2011 will mark the first state-sanctioned gay pride in Moscow. To celebrate, organiser and recently kidnapped gay rights advocate, Nikolai Alekseev, is encouraging LGBT people from all over the world, and our allies, to attend and make Moscow Pride 2011 an international celebration.

On October 23rd across the UK, vigils were held to speak out against hate crimes, and to remember those who have been victims. There is no hate crime legislation in Ireland, so in this country hate crimes technically don't exist.

'Curve Magazine'’s founder and publisher Frances Stevens announced the sale of the magazine to Avalon Media two days ago. Founded by Silke Bader in 1998, Avalon Media publishes 'Bound', an international lesbian magazine, and 'LOTL' (formerly 'Lesbians on the Loose'), Australia's premier lesbian magazine, which also recently celebrated its 20th anniversary.

Friday means Video of the Week time. This time we have picked another cover for you.

Most of us probably have these stories. I still feel indebted to those kids who did come out and risked it, braved the waters, because growing up far from the metropolitan area in your country as a young gay kid isn’t easy. And I would be the first to say we did have a progressive school – we had gay teachers, projects related to HIV prevention, and in my last year there, even a gay principal. It wasn’t supposed to be a thing, but somehow it still was.

In 2001, the first attempt to host a Pride event in Belgrade resulted in bloody violence when football hooligans and nationalists attacked the participants of the first Belgrade Pride and Serbian police did not provide adequate protection of the participants. LGBTI activists in Serbia abandoned the idea of a Pride event until last year, when Belgrade Pride March was cancelled at the very last moment.
