Haircuts and hairy moments: Coronation Street recap - March 10 through 14

14th March
Kevin arrives in Sophie’s room, to find Sally standing by her bed. She tells him that Sophie can go home in a few days and she’s just waiting on Sophie waking up to tell her.

Sian and Sophie talk about how sorry each of them is for what has happened. Sophie asks Sian if she still loves her, and Sian says of course she does. The pair hold each other’s hand as Sophie talks about how sorry she is and how she couldn’t stand the thought of losing Sian.

Sally talks in the hall with Sian, trying to work out what led Sophie to get drunk in the first place. Sian explains about meeting Chloe on holiday and how Sophie overreacted. Just at that, Sunita turns up with flowers for Sophie and offers her apologies for not following Sophie when she saw she was drunk. Sally says it wasn’t her responsibility, but when she finds out that Kevin knew but did nothing, she turns in his direction and her face says it all.

Sally lets rip at Kevin and pulls him up for everything he’s not done in relation to Sophie. She lies quietly in the bed, wiping tears away as her parents tear shreds off one another. Sunita gets up and leaves, while they argue and throw insults at each other.

Then Sian stands up and tells them exactly what they’ve been trying not to hear:

Sian: Do y’know what, I’m surprised that she didn’t jump!
Sally: Excuse me?
Sian: You heard me, I’m surprised she didn’t jump!
Sally: Stay out of this Sian, you’re a little girl.
Sophie: Don’t you dare speak to her like that.
Sally: Well, one minute she’s asking to move back in with us and the next minute she’s mouthing off.
Sian: No I’m not mouthing off! For months now, everything that she has been through: college, and this, you two splitting up, none of us have been there for her and no one's told her that it’s going to be ok.
Kevin: Yeah well it isn’t!
Sophie: Dad?!!!
Kevin: I’m not being lectured to by a kid!!
Sally: Yes you are.
Sian: See just listen to her. Talk to her, because everything that has been going on you don’t have a clue about. And then this is the result!

Sally and Kevin look at each other and hang their heads in shame at the home truth, unable to look either Sian or Sophie in the eye.

Sian later apologises to them for speaking the way she did, but Sally tells her not to as her words hit home. Sally asks Sophie why she didn’t tell her what was going on before it got as bad: Sophie tells her mum that she tried to but everyone was just too busy to take notice.

The pastor visits Sophie when everyone else has left and asks for her and Sian to come back to choir. Sophie says she’ll think about it... but I’m not so sure Sian will want to be anywhere near him after he wasn’t able to save Sophie from falling.

Sally and Kevin open up to one another over a bottle of wine to celebrate Sophie being alive after her fall, and Kevin goes one step too far when he misreads the situation and kisses Sally. She calls him despicable for using the situation with Sophie to try and worm his way back into their lives, and yells at him to go.
