Valentine’s Day

Several kiss-ins against homophobia have been planned around the world for upcoming Monday, February 14. Check out locations on the Kiss In blog or visit the Facebook page.

Germany
With 54 days left, Europe’s biggest lesbian event, L-BEACH, is coming closer. Most of the line-up has been announced and includes the lovely Heather Peace, while The L Word’s Rachel Shelley will be among the presenters. Find out more about the festival and about how to order tickets here.

The Netherlands
The LesBian Festival (LesBisch Festival 2011) that was planned in Amsterdam between February 25–27, has been postponed until further notice. It probably won’t take place before fall.

There’s a transgender film festival, TranScreen, planned in Amsterdam from June 1–5. They are still taking submissions until February 15.

Annual lesbian camping weekend Flevovuur (Flevo Fire) will be celebrating its 5th anniversary this year. The weekend will take place in Zeewolde from June 17-19. You can find out more info here.

Norway
If you’re into winter sports, you might want to find out more about Scandinavian Ski Pride, which will take place March 11-13.

Spain
There’s a big lesbian party taking place in Madrid on March 4. Find out more here.

Sweden
Dates for Stockholm Pride have been announced: all Pride events will take place in the first week of August (1-7).

The UK
BiPhoria, a social and discussion group for bisexuals in Manchester, are launching their publication, Getting Bi in a gay/straight world, on February 15 at 7 PM.

Heather Peace will be among the guests at this year’s L Word convention, L8. The conference will take place March 11-13 in Brighton.

Contests

The UK
Like every year, LGB charity Stonewall are organizing a film clip competition. Anyone aged 16–21 is invited to submit a short clip with a positive and inspirational message about being young and lesbian, gay or bisexual (LGB) in Britain today. Deadline for entries is 25 February. The three best clips will be screened at the Lesbian & Gay Film Festival in London, where the winner will be selected.
