Amar en Tiempos Revueltos - season 5, recap 12

Back in the club, Héctor spots Alfonso, who is completely stoned out of his mind, and asks him why he’s there as he’s supposed to be training all the time. Alfonso covers and says that he is and is on his way there now.

Back at home though, Alfonso is completely busted and Ana confronts him with his behavior. After a little pressing from Ana, the truth finally comes out: he is acting this way because he is afraid of disappointing the people he loves and who love him. And it’s actually kind of heartbreaking to see; he just wants to be loved and make the people around him proud.

Later at the club, both a friend of Rosa and Alfonso’s manager Nono get all up in his business asking if he’s not going to meet ‘the man in the bathroom’ for his fix, and then wish him a false good luck when he says he wants to beat the addiction. Nono even goes up a step and tells him that his fight against Fran Carrera will be his last opportunity to make a big comeback and that he cannot lose the game.

Alfonso promises that he won’t, but things take a turn for the worse as his withdrawal symptoms get even worse when he’s at home. The doctor comes to check up on him and tells him that he’s developed a serious addiction to whatever he’s been shooting up, and prescribes Alfonso something to get over the worst symptoms.

In Ana’s office, Nono is telling Ana she has a very important role for Alfonso, and to show him that tender side of her. Ana tells him she’ll do anything for Alfonso.

And later on we see exactly what that anything is: it seems that Nono staged a photo opportunity for the press. Ana claims to not know anything about it, but I have a different feeling. Teresa sees the image in the news paper later and, annoyed, throws the paper away.

Somewhere on the street, Rosa and the Doc are having an argument about who doesn’t help the other, but it’s boring and like everything else will come up later on.
