This week eurOut would like to introduce you to the site of Dog Ear Audio, whose name already gives a big hint at what you should expect.

If you’re a lover of lesbian literature and occasionally or regularly like to listen to audio books, then you already know how hard the combination of these two is to find. And that is where Dog Ear Audio enters scene, because audio books of lesbian literature are their business.

Dog Ear Audio started last year and was lucky enough to strike deals with Intaglio Publications and Bold Strokes Books. They currently have five books available and several more in post-production. Excerpts are available for all finished books, giving you the possibility to choose for yourself if you like the voice or not. In some cases the writer is also the narrator, in some cases the producers went for someone different.

Examiner.com recently published an article by Edna Stull on Dog Ear Audio. In talking to the owners, Stull also learned details from the production process, how the narrators and how the books are chosen and that they’ve come to sitting down with the authors for interviews. Snippets from selected interviews were made available on the website.

What about you? Do you care about audio books at all? And if yes, when do you listen to them and how do you choose them? Are there other publishers offering lesbian audio books or is this the first you've heard of?
