We hope you’ve all had a wonderful Christmas! Here is your weekly overview of what happened in the world of European lesBian entertainment. We keep you up-to-date on all the latest events, movie releases, TV storylines and who did what to whom.

TV land

The Netherlands
In an attempt to raise money for charity, two Dutch female celebrities snogged in a glass house on national TV. Straight TV presenter/actress Katja Schuurman and bisexual singer/actress Ellen ten Damme made 300 euros with their kiss, and although I bet there were plenty of lesBians that enjoyed watching it, this is not the kind of lesBian visibility I need to see more of. How will lesBians ever be taken seriously when people like this continue to show the world that lesbian sexuality is something ‘hot’ for mostly straight male audiences to look at?

Good news for all you Lip Service fans out there: the BBC have announced that the Scottish lesBian drama series will return for a second season! Series writer and creator Harriet Braun is excited about being able to take the characters forward and she promises us “some great twists, turns and surprises” for next season. As soon as we hear more about the new season, we’ll let you know!

Recaps
Can't keep up with all the lesBian storylines on TV right now? Let us help you with our latest detailed recaps of Amar en tiempos revueltos and Verbotene Liebe. We’ll have a new Coronation Street recap up as soon as possible.

Movies

UK
A lesbian sex scene from Boogie Woogie has been voted third most watched video on the web, AfterEllen reports. Has anyone ever seen this movie? Is it worth watching for the lesbian content? Let us know in the comments!

Sam Fox will be starring as herself in “a sexy ‘coming of age’ British rock-band drama”, called Banned Girls. It’s a story of six young women brought together by a passion for music. Though not explicitly lesBian (not that we know of, anyway), one of the photos from the pilot does look promising, so we’ll definitely keep an eye on this title.
