This week eurOut features as Website of the Week that of ADFH, a French association for gay parents, those who want to become parents and children with gay parents who want to get in contact with kids with other gay parents.

While this ADFH is still young as a foundation, its founders come with many years of experience of working for LGBT associations and all of them are parents, so they really know what they speak of and what they fight for. In fact it’s not only the common ground of being gay parents, they also share a view of missing ethics in the process of becoming (a) gay parent(s) mostly related to the facts of legal loopholes or missing legislation and more important the one that gay parents are still considered as being non-existent, and thus putting even more hurdles on the path.

They offer numerous services to future gay parents and those who already have a child. And they don’t forget the children, e.g. for St. Nicholas (Dec. 6th) they organized an event especially for children with gay parents and they even started an exchange program for students interested in learning a language in its home country  - within a family that won’t discuss the student’s family situation as they are a gay family too.

Wouldn’t you have loved to have that opportunity? What do you think? Do we need more associations that specialize on a certain topic of LGBT rights or should national organizations group them all? (Not all European countries do have a national LGBT organization, France being one of them.)
