This week eurOut features as Website of the Week a site that is very informative and insightful.

Recently, the BBC collected all their LGBT-related news coverage into a huge archive entitled 'The Gay Rights Movement – The campaign for sexual equality'.

On the website you can find news coverage about all the main campaigns, protests and laws in relation to gay rights in the UK. The broadcasts date back as far as 1957, making it a very impressive collection.

It gives a great overview of everything that took place in the last 50 years, and you can clearly see how far we have come. Broadcasts from the fifties and sixties mainly revolve around decriminalisation of homosexuality, in the nineties is was all about coming out and the effects it had, and in the 2000s the main stories are about gay culture and civil partnerships.

What do you think of this BBC archive? Is it something you enjoy going through or don't you care much about history?
