A party with the word “beach” in its name might not be the first thing on your mind with the wintery weather of the past few weeks. But believe it or not, one day summer will come around again.

And what better way to start it off than a lesbian festival? In September and October of last year, we already reported about the new L-Beach festival in Northern Germany, which will take place in April.

A lot of time has passed since October, so we are here to give you the latest developments. The most important one is probably that all tickets with accommodation are sold out. However, this does not mean there are no more possibilities for you to go. There is a waiting list in case apartments become available again, and there are day passes without accommodation, which have been for sale since February 1st.

On the L-Beach website, they have opened up a “room sharing board”. This might seem kind of silly, but you do need to sleep somewhere, and of course it is also a great way to meet new people. According to an L-Beach newsletter, “more than 380 users are already online and more than a few have not only found accommodation but also their first date”.

Like we reported before, there will be two stages with live acts, such as Anatomie Bousculaire, Uh Huh Her, Sarah Bettens, and Elle Bandita, who all need no introduction. There are also a few bands I have never heard of, such as Cherry Overdrive and Dance Yourself to Death, but you can listen to their music on the site and I must say the musicians I have listened to so far sound like it will be a great party.

Speaking of parties, there will be at least four different party floors with cool names like “Baltic Dancehall”. One of the party floors will actually give you a view of the dunes. Of course, it will be April and I am being way too optimistic thinking that the beach will be remotely interesting by then. Luckily, during the day there are enough things to do as well. There are several outdoor and indoor sports you can take part in, one of which is table soccer, so you don’t have to worry about athletic ability. Then you could of course always take the time to get to know your roommate whom you met on the forums.

Of course, there are quite a few weeks left until the festival, so there might be a few other changes to come. Keep an eye on the official L-Beach website, or follow them on Twitter.

Are you going to the L-Beach festival? What do you expect of it? Let us know in the comments.
