The Rocker (Thin Lizzy cover)

Through the most illustrious roads I end up at the most fascinating places, both in real life as well as on the virtual highway. The former is most likely to put me here in trouble, so let’s talk about those interesting spots on the virtual highway. I have the strange habit of googling by name only in combination with the word musician. The name of that very day was Leanne and Google listed a video documentary of someone called Leanne Harte. I found that intriguing and it triggered my curiosity, because the word documentary suggests it is about something dramatic, don’t you think?  It appeared to be a short film about the early years of Leanne Harte’s musical career, a very young musician, composer, and multi-instrumentalist and singer songwriter from Ireland. I spent the full 8 minutes watching breathlessly and most likely jaw dropped. I am rarely so impressed by an artist on first listen. But girls, I do count myself as the luckiest person whenever this does happen to me.

Leanne Harte Documentary

The Irish already know. And I don’t think it will be that long before the rest of the world knows: Leanne Harte is rock ’n roll personified and she has got it in her to become a living legend; you’ve either got it in you or you don’t. Whether this is really going to happen? Only time will tell.

Leanne Harte is only 23 years of age but she has already got over ten years of experience as a musician and three records to her name. A musical track record that many other musicians will envy (her for.) Leanne is not only extremely talented but she is also a true musician. Someone who considers music and lyrics to be more important than the commercial side of it. Someone to whom other things in life also matter, like education and helping others whenever possible.

Leanne went to my secondary school and she performed for my year when I was 13 during a break in exams. I bought her acoustic album "An Irish girl in Paris" and have loved her music ever since. :)
