My mother raised me to believe all lesbians were butch, feminist women with no regard for fashion, feelings, or the fact that armpit hair and the hair on your legs could possibly be shaved. Meanwhile I've come to understand that there are obviously all sorts of lesbians, that feminism isn't a bad thing at all, and that women with no regard for fashion can actually be quite refreshing. I mean, it’s not like I have a lot of fashion sense myself, so it’s only a good thing when there would be more people who would care less.

Then why do I immediately think of those stereotypes when I think of a women's camp? Or, more specifically, the Femø women's camp on the island of Femø in Denmark.

I strongly recommend you to visit the camp. I visited the camp several years some years ago. Being there gave me a feeling of freedom, that I have seldom met since then. An evironment of women of all kinds. That was great fun. And not at all oldfashioned. So go there and be womanized :)

I'm not a big fan of camps or groups in general, so the idea of a women's camp doesn't get me too excited.

However, this does sound like one of the better ones and a really nice initiative for those less anti-social than me.

I agree, the "no men" rule already applying to kids over age 12 is a bit weird or could be problematic. You made me feel sad for the imaginary son too ;-)
