Last time on Cuestión de Sexo:  Sofía’s mom kisses a girl. Sofía’s dad kisses Elena. Dani gives up her radical lesbian friends, because Sofía doesn’t like them. And Gonzalo becomes hot.

This episode picks up right where the last one left off: at the movie theater, with Elena and Diego kissing and Sofía, Dani and Gonzalo watching.

Sofía is freaked out that her father is having an affair. Gonzalo and Dani say they should leave, but Sofía refuses and picks up the phone to call her mother.

Gonzalo doesn’t think calling Alba is a good idea, but Sofía says she’s doing what her parents taught her to do: telling the truth.

Gonzalo sneaks a text to Diego to warn him that Alba is coming. At which point, Diego turns around and spots Sofía. Diego tells Elena that Alba is coming and that Sofía is behind them. Elena decides to make a run for it, leaving Diego alone. He decides to brave another look behind. Sofía glares at him. And Diego tries to smile and wave. He knows he’s busted.

As they exit the movie, Diego tries to downplay the kiss, saying it was just a goodbye kiss. But of course it wasn’t and Sofía isn’t stupid. Diego says that things with Elena are over and to please not tell Alba because things are really good with them. Sofía says that if he’s having an affair with someone else it’s because things aren’t going so well. They continue to argue back and forth until they spot Alba walking into the theater.

Alba: What’s going on? Why did you call me, Sofía?

Sofía takes a second to make up her mind, with Diego begging her with his eyes not to say anything.

Sofía: Nothing, that I finally told Dad that I’m a lesbian.

Diego suddenly loses his ability to form words and Sofía looks pretty pleased with herself. So she continues.

Sofía: So I’ve already told him that Daniela is my girlfriend. And he took it really well, no?

Diego continues to not be able to actually say anything. I’d be curious to read his dialogue during this scene. It would read something like, “Mlksdjfjsifaksfsjfasdfasdfa….” I’m not sure how to translate that.

Alba, meanwhile, is relieved and says she’d been worried.  Diego looks like he’s about to pass out so Gonzalo jumps in and drags him off to get a drink. Sofía is quite happy with her ingenious coming out. Dani hugs her tighter.

Diego is not taking the news very well. He can’t believe that Sofía is a lesbian and spends a really long time complaining to Gonzalo about it. He blames Daniela for turning Sofía gay and wonders what she did to convince her. Gonzalo spends the entire time defending them both.

Gonzalo: Dani is a really nice girl. You should just see how good they are living together.

Diego: They live together … they probably sleep together.

Gonzalo: Yes, your daughter makes love to another woman. We’re in the 21st century. These things happen.

Diego loses his ability to form words again and walks away to get some air.

The girl behind the concession stand has been listening to their conversation the entire time and finds Gonzalo’s open-mindedness appealing. Gonzalo gets a date out of it.

Later on, Gonzalo and Dani are on the couch playing on the PlayStation while Sofía and Diego fight in the bedroom. Dani is distracted by the argument in the background. Then Diego and Sofía move the argument into the kitchen.

Diego is convinced that Sofía is just doing this to piss him off and asks if it’s because he never accepted Charlie (her ex-boyfriend). He says to give him Charlie’s number that he’ll give him a call. Sofía says she doesn’t want to go back to Charlie. Diego wonders if Charlie screwed up so badly that now she’s with “that,” and points to Dani.

Sofía: That, is named Daniela and you have to accept her.

Diego: Well I look at her and I can’t because I don’t like her.

Sofía: Well you better start liking her fast because otherwise I’ll tell mom about you and Elena.

Dani: You don’t need to do that, Sofía. You don’t need to blackmail your father.

Diego wants Sofía to come back home with him, but Sofía refuses. If he can’t accept her life, then she doesn’t want him in it. Diego says fine and storms out.

Sofía apologizes to Dani about her father and Dani says that it’s normal, that parents usually react that way. And Sofía asks if that won’t change anything between them. Dani laughs and says of course not and they kiss.

Later on, Gonzalo is helping Dani make the bed. Meanwhile, he’s asking her for help with his new lady friend who speaks a lot of street slang he’s not familiar with. He asks Dani for a double date so that she and Sofía can sell him like a rough, savage type of guy. Dani laughs. She doesn’t think it’d work but she agrees because it sounds fun. But first, she asks him for a favor.

The favor turns out to be to take her with him to his driving lesson with Diego because she wants to talk to Diego. Diego walks up and isn’t happy to see Dani there. He says that all he knows is that a few months ago his daughter was going to give him grandchildren, and now the only thing he can count on her for is to go shopping for flannel shirts.

Dani: It’s incredible. You’re everything I hate in a man.

Diego: Well I feel the same way.

Gonzalo tries to mediate the conversation and get them to start over. Dani doesn’t bother trying to be nice and tells Diego straight out that he’s acting like an old-fashioned idiot. Diego tries to make the point that if she and Sofía can get married, it’s because people like him went out into the streets. And that if there’s democracy in the country, it’s because people like him went out into the streets. Dani points out that Diego was seven when Franco died. Diego says she’s the only twenty-year-old in the country that knows when Franco died.

Dani: Look, it’s obvious that you and I are never going to get along. But if you love your daughter, accept her how she is.

Diego: My daughter isn’t how you say. She’s confused. She’s only doing this to piss us off, like everything she’s done since she learned how to walk.

Dani: Look, you’re only going to hurt Sofía. Just so you know.

Later that evening, Sofía and Dani are on a double date with Gonzalo and his new girl. They’re having fun watching Gonzalo squirm because he doesn’t know half of what the girl is saying to him. Sofía and Dani kiss, which upsets one of the other diners.

The manager walks over and asks Sofía and Dani to leave the restaurant, but they refuse. Gonzalo’s date refuses to budge as well.

Meanwhile, Diego and Alba are throwing the most awkward dinner party ever because Alba found out about Elena and Diego and is very pissed off. During the dinner, Diego gets a call. He tells Alba that Sofía is in trouble. So they both go to see what’s wrong.

Back at the restaurant, the manager insists that they won’t serve them dinner, but the girls are all insistent that the only way they’ll be kicked out is through force. Gonzalo, who hates all kinds of confrontation, is torn between wanting to be tough for the girl he’s with and doing what he’s told.

Alba and Diego show up at the restaurant and the manager explains the girls are scandalizing the place because they’re kissing in public.

Manager: Please understand, this is an establishment for normal people.

Diego: This is a scandal.

Alba: Yes, this is shameful.

Manager: I’m glad you think the same as me.

Diego reaches for a chair, asks for a menu, and starts speaking in a loud voice: And if you don’t like it that we’re gay, GAYS, I’m very sorry. We are all homosexuals here. WE ARE THE HOMO-FAMILY.

Gonzalo: Oh yeah?

Diego: Yes, my love. My darling. Give me a kiss.

Diego pulls Gonzalo closer and kisses him on the lips.

Alba starts speaking loudly, too, saying the woman at the other table is looking at her and she likes her.

The manager gives up and tells them to please be discreet and to eat really fast. Everyone is proud of their successful rebellion.

After dinner, Sofía goes to her parents’ apartment. She thanks her father for defending her and says she thought he had a problem with her being with Daniela. Diego says that no, he doesn’t. Then admits that yes he does, but that what bothers him most is that she might suffer. Sofía says she doesn’t care what other people think, she only cares what he thinks. He says he just wants her to be happy and she says that she’s very happy.

Diego: It just bothers me that I’ll never have a grandson. Or a son-in-law to drink beers with and who’ll laugh at my bad jokes.

Sofía says Dani’s got that covered and Diego says’ they’ll see about that and the subject switches to her parents’ current problems. Sofía tells them that they need each other because they balance each other out. She says that if there’s any chance they can work things out, then they should sit down and talk things through. She leaves them to it.

Dani and Sofía arrive at the apartment later to find Gonzalo naked on the couch with his date. They are shocked and decide to leave the apartment. Dani makes a comment about how she can’t understand how anyone can like the male form, but Sofía seems to think Gonzalo has a nice body. And Dani tells her she’s a huge straight girl.

Then it’s two months later …

The family is celebrating the success of their vineyard. Diego and Alba are back together. And Alba’s forgiven Elena for what happened with Diego. Gonzalo and the girl are still together.

And – most importantly - so are Sofía and Dani.

And that, my friends, seems to be the end of the series. At least neither of them got pregnant.

That's one hell of a pretty bow wrapped around this story...
It sucks so badly that this show got canceled but at least everyone is happy and gay and in love and working things out.

It might be a bit too pretty but:
- We get a lesbian love story
- where there is touching
- and kissing
- and understanding parents
- and realistic reactions
- and a happy ending

Savor this, my lovely community.
Tomorrow we might be pregnant/straight/dead again...

LOL Let's hope not. Especially not the "we" part.

I guess the worst would be all at the same time...

Ana Fernandez is really cute ... too bad this was a short lived series I could have gone on for more than just a couple of episodes. Sofia, i am going to miss you already ....
