LNS Newsflash April 1st, Sweden adopts gay-marriage law

Good news from Sweden (from our correspondent susi, and thanks @ sealegs)


Today the Swedish parliament voted through the new gender-neutral marriage law that we've been waiting for. That means that as of May 1st same-sex couples will be able to get married under the same legal regulations as heterosexual couples. 

 

For now though church marriages won't be possible, the Swedish Lutheran church will make the decision about how to deal with this issue in the fall.

 

Following Norway and Denmark, Sweden is now the next country to implement a gender neutral

Hmm... Stockholm might beat the Provence this time. ;-) Count me in!

Now how to explain the Spanish gf that moving to a country even more Northern with even longer winter nights is a bright idea...

Seriously, though: I hope is was a starting signal that will have many other countries following Sweden.

Last week end Zurich, the biggest city in Switzerland, elected a new mayor. Corine Mauch has been elected and... she's a lesbian ;)
