Denmark is discussing its adoption rights; and though they were the first country allowing same-sex couples to be legal parents of child, current legislation still includes passages that discriminate non straight families.
A discussion on radio channel P1 within in the scope of health, also discussed the topic that everybody including poorer and older couples shouldn’t be deprived of their ground rights to having children.

And in breaking news we learn that the Danish parliament approved a new bill for adoption just yesterday, permitting gay couples the adoption of Danish and foreign kids.

The Scottish Parliament Public Petitions committee will request that the Government reviews the Scottish legislation on marriages. Members of the committee expressed their hope to be able to amend this bill before being forced to do so by a ruling from the European Court of Human Rights.

A new report demanding of the EU to apply rules against discrimination based on sexual orientation, disability etc. was presented this Monday in the European Parliament Kathalijne Buitenweg, member of the Civil Liberties Committee. The report is scheduled for voting on April 2nd.

Another report will be presented by Thomas Hammarberg, reprimanding the Netherlands. The Netherlands do have extensive rights for homosexuals and laws against discrimination, but there’s always a bailout for those declaring religious arguments, which doesn’t comply with the rules for Equal Treatment.

France is FINALLY discussion the recognition of civil unions from out of state? Hallelujah! I hope they add out-of-state gay marriages to the list, as well.

The "asked for sexual orientation while traveling" bit has lost me... what kind of relevance is that supposed to have? And if you want to ask about sex lives (though why is beyond me), wouldn't it be more feasible to ask with whom you're actually sleeping?

Also, thanks for pointing out the the Serbia law passed; I was under the impression that it had been retracted due to right-wing pressure. It seems there's hope yet! Must be the spring air...
